This year, Berkeley Chemistry Tournament will be parterning with ContestDojo to handle tournament registration. Detailed instructions are below. (Much of these instructions were taken from BMT's contestdojo guide)
If there are any questions about registration, please reach out to us directly at our email acsberkeley@berkeley.edu.
Creating an Account
ContestDojo handles multiple teams per school or organization under the organization title. One parent or coach per organization should create a coach account at https://contestdojo.com/.
Coaches: Creating an Organization
Once you’ve logged in, you must create an organization before you can register for BCT. You can do so by clicking the New Organization button on the left sidebar and filling out the form.
Although this often corresponds to a school, it doesn’t have to be — individual parents or students can create an organization as well. It is simply a group for organizational purposes. We do however, heavily encourage students to register with students from their school. If we do see that students from the same school are fragmented across teams, we may ask students to rearrange teams. Note that one organization can have multiple teams associated with it (i.e., if your school is bringing more than one team).
Please note that we require a minimum of one adult per two teams to be present at the tournament. Ideally, one of these parents or teachers creates the organization.
The name will also be displayed publicly, so choose carefully.
Coaches: Registering for BCT
Once you have an organization, click on that organization on the left sidebar to activate it. Then, find the event you want to register for — in this case, BCT 2026, and click Register.
Then, click the Begin Registration button to sign your organization up for the event. You should be brought to the following page which also provides information on how to add a team to your organization (see "Creating Teams" tab below).
Coaches: Inviting Students to your Organization
Before students can be added to a team, you must add them to your organization. To invite students to your organization, click the Invite Students button, enter in the email addresses of the students you would like to invite, and press Save. These students will receive an email inviting them to the event. In order to accept the invite, they must login to their ContestDojo student account or make one at the email, click the link, and fill out the form. Please note that these emails will be used for their Gradescope accounts as well, so have students use personal accounts if possible!
Students can also join the organization by making a ContestDojo account, registering BCT, and joining for the organization via the Organization Join Code.
Coaches: Manually Adding Students to your Organization
If the invite process isn’t working, you can also manually add the student. This will create an account for the student, requiring you to type in all of the student’s information, so it is recommended to use the invite process described in the previous section when possible.
After clicking Manually Add Student, filling out the form, and pressing Save, you should see the student appear in the Unassigned (Non-participating) Students section of your dashboard.
Coaches: Creating Teams
You must put students on teams to officially register them for the event, even if you only have one team! Students who are not assigned to a team will not be able to participate! You can create a team by clicking Add Team, entering a name for the team, and clicking Save. You will see a box for the team pop up on your dashboard. Please note that for each team, you must select which division the team intends to participate in for the two Topics Rounds (MOFs and Food Chem) when the team is created.
The team name will be displayed publicly, so choose carefully.
To assign students to teams, simply click and drag their box from under unassigned, to the box corresponding to their team!
Students and Parents: Filling out Waivers
Before you can participate in the event, you must fill out a waiver with your parent. Waivers will be due the same day as payment, on February 21st, 2026.
To request a waiver, visit the ContestDojo student portal, click on the event in the left hand sidebar, and enter your parent’s email into the form in the Waivers section. Then, press Request Waiver. Your parent will receive an email with a link to the waiver.
As a parent, you need to sign a waiver before your child can participate in BCT. Once your child requests a waiver to your email address, you will receive an email with a link to fill out the waiver.
Fill in every field, including the signature fields, then click Submit at the bottom. (If the Submit button is still grayed out, that means you have not filled out every field — please carefully check to ensure that you have.)
After clicking Submit, a popup with the generated signed PDF waiver will be displayed. Scroll through the PDF and confirm that your details were populated correctly. Then, press Confirm.
Payment for BCT will be handled separately from ContestDojo. Please go to the following payment form which contains instructions that are additionally linked here. Once you pay for your teams, please select that you've completed payment under the three dots in the top right corner of the team box and click edit. If any teams are added after you first complete payment, simply add a team in ContestDojo and submit an additional payment form.
Please complete payments by Februrary 21st, 2026. First teams for each school will cost $100 and subsequent teams will cost $80 each. If teams are making payments beyond the payment due date, teams will be subject to an additional fee of $20 per team unless otherwise discussed with us through email.
If your team would like to request a fee waiver, please email us at acsberkeley@berkeley.edu.
Teams that withdraw past March 7th, 2026 will not be refunded their registration fee.
